Pack your birth-centre bag

You don’t need to bring much. We have most of the items you’ll want while you’re here. Just be sure you pack:

  • your health card and photo identification
  • your prenatal medical records
  • an infant car seat (not technically in your bag, but worth mentioning here)
  • comfortable clothes to wear during labour
  • loose-fitting clothes to wear home, including a pair of roomy underwear
  • a receiving blanket and weather-appropriate clothes for baby

Optional items

To make your short stay as comfortable as possible, you may also want to bring:

  • lip balm
  • massage oil
  • snacks and drinks
  • slippers and socks
  • your favourite pillow
  • a bathrobe or nightgown
  • music to use with the in-suite music player
  • deodorant
  • a toothbrush and toothpaste
  • a hair brush, and headband or hair elastics
  • eyeglasses and contact lenses (with case and solution), if you wear them
  • a bathing suit for anyone who may get into the birthing tub or shower with you
  • a camera with film or batteries, charger and memory card
  • a cellphone and the phone numbers of friends and family
