Our policies and protocols
Delivery of care at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre (OBWC) is consistent with the steps midwives currently take to serve women in home or hospital settings. Midwives book clients through their respective practices and arrange for a second midwife to attend each birth.
Be mindful, however, that women are admitted to the centre only when in active labour and are discharged no more than four hours postpartum. Protocols and standard operating procedures are in place to ensure the care women receive at the OBWC is uniform no matter who delivers it.
