      After completing an honours degree in Bio-medical Sciences at the University of Guelph, Erin pursued her naturopathic medical studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.   3. Kangaroo Fitness: Painfree Pregnancy - 7 Week Prenatal Alignment Class

    • Have a Pain Free Pregnancy! With a blend of prenatal Restorative Exercise, and small lifestyle changes (how you stand, how you sit, choice in footwear etc.) you can avoid common prenatal aches and pains and prepare your body for birth (vaginal or otherwise). The Prenatal Alignment Class is a course of seven weekly 1-hour classes that blend exercise with biomechanical education to help you move your body the way it was intended to be moved - in a biologically optimal way. The classes are led by Jillian Nicol (Live Aligned) and Susanne Reinhold (Kangaroo Fitness) who are both certified Restorative Exercise Specialists™ as graduates of the Whole Body Alignment course at the Restorative Exercise Institute.

    • Yvette Halpin has 23 years experience as a Waldorf Early Childhood Educator providing parenting and child neurodevelopment support.
      The objectives for the FUNdational Baby Developmental Movement Class:
      * To observe your baby move and make note as to where they are at in the sequence of motor development and see if we can see any of the reflexes at work.
      * To give the opportunity for the mums with younger babies to see movements in action of the older babies present, giving them an idea of what to expect to see later for their babies.
      * Answer any questions you may have.

      This is the perfect first class for new parents. A gentle and relaxed class that is designed with generous time allotted so that your baby’s needs can be met while you are attending the program.     • Lisa Flanders is a Registered Physiotherapist with specialized training pertaining to pelvic floor physiotherapy. She completed a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Manitoba prior to completing a Master of Science, Physical Therapy at Queen’s University.

      Lisa began her career in orthopedic physiotherapy, which she loves and continues to practice, but had a keen interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Following several post-graduate courses on pelvic floor physiotherapy, it became a passion for her. She realized many individuals have common concerns related to pelvic health but are often too embarrassed to seek advice, or are unaware that treatment is available. Her goal is to remove the stigma surrounding pelvic health concerns and work with individuals to identify and optimize their pelvic health and function .

      Lisa sees patients with a variety of concerns related to orthopedic and pelvic floor pelvic health, including chronic pain, acute injury, sports injury, male and female urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginismus (painful penetration), vulvodynia (pelvic pain) and coccydynia (coccyx pain). She uses a variety of techniques including manual therapy, acupuncture, education and home exercise programs.

    • HypnoBirthing® is an empowering prenatal course that covers everything from labour stages to breastfeeding. The emphasis is on gaining a good understanding of labour, what the body does in labour, and how to cope.

With a blend of prenatal Restorative Exercise, and small lifestyle changes (how you stand, how you sit, choice in footwear etc.) you can avoid common prenatal aches and pains and prepare your body for birth (vaginal or otherwise). The Prenatal Alignment Class is a course of seven weekly 1-hour classes that blend exercise with biomechanical education to help you move your body the way it was intended to be moved - in a biologically optimal way.     • Lisa Flanders is a Registered Physiotherapist with specialized training pertaining to pelvic floor physiotherapy. She completed a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Manitoba prior to completing a Master of Science, Physical Therapy at Queen’s University.

      Lisa began her career in orthopedic physiotherapy, which she loves and continues to practice, but had a keen interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy. Following several post-graduate courses on pelvic floor physiotherapy, it became a passion for her. She realized many individuals have common concerns related to pelvic health but are often too embarrassed to seek advice, or are unaware that treatment is available. Her goal is to remove the stigma surrounding pelvic health concerns and work with individuals to identify and optimize their pelvic health and function .

      Lisa sees patients with a variety of concerns related to orthopedic and pelvic floor pelvic health, including chronic pain, acute injury, sports injury, male and female urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginismus (painful penetration), vulvodynia (pelvic pain) and coccydynia (coccyx pain). She uses a variety of techniques including manual therapy, acupuncture, education and home exercise programs.

    • Infant massage is a natural way to nurture and care for your baby. We tend to do it while holding them - without even thinking about it. Infant Massage classes teach a full body massage routine, the benefits of individual strokes, ways to communicate with your baby, and to have some very special time together.

      The health giving properties of Infant Massage include; growth and motor skill development, blood and lymph circulation, immune system stimulation, building bones, help with gas and colic, aid with deeper and longer sleep, emotional and physical bonding time.

      Facilitator, Brandie Lekovic, will lead you through individualized massage sessions. Sessions include massage oil and handouts. Classes are intended for babies who are pre crawling and provide lots of clever hints on carrying massage into the years to come. Brandie received her training with the International Association of Infant Massage.

    • Are you an exhausted parent that has tried everything and cannot get your baby to sleep? Do you want to find a solution that is not crying it out?

      We will be creating a space for parents to follow their instincts when it comes to their new baby, which will allow them to set the stage for optimal brain development. We want to spread the word that babies wake up through the night, and for good reason. We want to share the other side of the sleep story! We will address identifying individual and family needs, creating support systems and providing a safe place for parents to share stories that support evidence based sleep patterns. Bring your baby, have some tea and create community

      Babies are welcome and encouraged to attend class. Class will take place after OCEA's Infant Massage Class.
